OVERVIEW

This section provides visual references and baseline standards for the layout and furnishings of typical spaces within a school.  

The diagrams are meant to guide space planning and design development by helping designers and planners understand the spatial considerations and furniture needs for each room type. They supplement the square footage requirements of the Space Program by providing a minimum clear dimension and appropriate proportions to create a functional, efficient environment.

Layouts shown are a suggested option based on the intended occupancy count, ADA accessibility, and circulation space. Adjustments may be needed based on window and door placement.  Reference the Space Descriptions, Master Charts and Furniture Lists for additional detail.
